Terms of Service & Business Agreement
Last updated: August 24, 2026
1. Service Description & Acceptance
By creating an account or subscribing to BoltBench ("the Service"), you enter into a legally binding agreement to operate under these Terms of Service. BoltBench provides shop floor management, repair ticket tracking, inventory logging, and customer status notifications for independent electronics repair businesses.
2. Subscriptions, Payments & Billing
Subscribers may choose between the Starter (£29/month) and Pro Shop (£59/month) plans. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis via Stripe.
- 7-Day Free Trial: Pro Shop subscriptions may include a 7-day free trial. If not canceled before trial expiry, the monthly subscription fee will be automatically billed to your payment method.
- Upgrades & Switching Plans: Upgrading or changing your subscription tier overwrites your previous monthly rate automatically. Any unused portion of a previous cycle is prorated or replaced by the new plan.
- Cancellation & Grace Period: You can cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Upon cancellation, your access remains active until the end of your paid billing cycle (`cancel_at_period_end`). No partial monthly refunds are issued.
3. Customer Data & Privacy Compliance (GDPR)
BoltBench acts as a Data Processor for repair store customers. Store owners ("Data Controllers") are responsible for ensuring they have lawful grounds to collect customer names, phone numbers, and device serial numbers (IMEI).
- Customer data is processed exclusively to deliver status tracking, ticket printing, and invoice generation.
- We strictly adhere to data protection laws (including UK GDPR and EU GDPR). Data is never sold to third-party marketers.
4. Device Inspection & Repair Disclaimers
BoltBench provides tools for logging device passcodes, pre-repair conditions, and repair intake photos. Store owners are solely responsible for obtaining customer signatures and conducting pre-repair diagnostic checks prior to opening devices.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BoltBench shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of business revenue, or loss of customer device data. Total aggregate liability is limited to the subscription amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding any claim.
6. Contact & Legal Enquiries
For legal questions, billing inquiries, or data compliance requests, please contact our support team at contact@boltbench.co.uk.
